UFCW Reform Web Site

The United Food and Commercial Workers International (UFCW) is a labor union which represents about 1.3 million workers in the United States and Canada. UFCW members are employed in a variety of industries; including retail, meat packing, and food processing. The average UFCW worker earns between $25,000 and $30,000 a year, yet there are over 450 officers and staff of the UFCW who were paid in excess of $100,000 in 2005. The international alone accounted for 150 of those. In spite of a series of concessionary contracts which have been negotiated in local after local, the UFCW has continued to increase its per capita dues and its compensation to officers and staff.
